As a reader who had read her book, I would suggest if you're working on AI in tech company, skip the book because there's not much relevant info. If you're working in traditional business like retailer, marketing, e-commerce etc, or you worked in Tech but will join one of those traditional industries to work on any format of so-called "AI", her book might give some prospects you may run into. Her most prominent achievement was with IBM Watson back in early 2010s, which was called "AI" back then, but we all know thats whole lof different. I don't even think any of that experience would help any guy in Tech industry now. She's smart, candid, tenacious person though, and had a proven record on corporate ladder.

Sounds like she needs a lot more knowledge and experience in AI, as she pretty much just lumps ML, with DL as AI, which will bite most companies and CXO in the… in the next couple years, and destroy competitive advantages 9g the companies they work for.

Enterprise AI adoption not happening due to: (1) Decisionmakers/Executives have absolutely zero knowledge & wisdom on how/when to move forward on AI (2) Most old-age IT guys getting territorial, clinging to comfort zone traditional tech, didn't even learn/adopt basic ML /predictive AI are stubbornly resisting Gen AI (3) Very few who really understand AI in enterprise are not heard or valued

Today, looking-out at the current milestone we are passing on our AI journey, many companies envision using AI as a tool that empowers managers and employees to increase productivity and creativity. Companies are clinging to the belief that they will continue to need employees to perform job roles, especially as those employees are boosted by AI skills that make them more efficient and effective. But how long will it take before this upskilling becomes a waste of time? This belief in upskilling is due to a fundamental misunderstanding of exponential growth in AI performance, and thinking that current capabilities will persist in the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, as AI develops, roles for people that seem practical for the future now, will increasingly (and quickly) lose their significance. The reality is that any task that can be defined, can eventually be automated. Jobs, as we know them and envision them, will be toast!

Is there an interview with Kroger's executive(S)? Kroger has done through its digital transformation (BackStock Kroger) a few years ago.

Many individuals who lack true understanding of the ML field, often dubbed 'pseudo AI experts', struggle to dissect and solve business problems due to their inability to grasp how to effectively utilize these technologies. A significant portion of applications, for instance in generative AI, remain fixated solely on conversational chatbots.

Very insightful talk. I am from life science background with PhD in Biochemistry. I am really interested to grow as a Data Analyst in Pharma but do not have a clue where to start developing those skills.
